Release of Trace2UML

Hi,

I had a service request for Trace2UML this weekend. At the End, I
discovered, that this guy only had an old release.
The reason is, on our Trace2UML Website is still an old installer.

At the moment, I'm not really sure, what we have here and who could
easily change that.

Do we have a working installer script for Trace2UML? For the build
server?

Thomas

Hi (Thomas),

for Windows we integrated Trace2UML in the Astade installer a loong
time ago; we don't have a separate ISS file for Trace2UML (yet).

My questions are:
- should we build a separate Trace2UML installer (for Windows)?
- if so, should we remove Trace2UML (and instrument) from the Astade
installer (to avoid confusion)?
- should we extract AstadeDraw as well (as we do for Linux)?

What this boils down to is that we should probably build a layered
installer for Windows that installs everything.
Internally this installer calls the Trace2UML (and AstadeDraw)
installers so that these packages will show up as separate entries in
the control panel "Software" overview - in this way we can avoid
conflicts if the user had a previous install of Trace2UML.

My only problem is that I don't know how to build such a layered
installer (with InnoSetup).

Cheers
Anders

I think, yes.

It would be better, but it would be a lot of extra work. I would be
satisfied, if only have a separate Trace2UML installer beside the "all
inclusive" one. But your approach is better, of course.

well... This would be a good thing, too. But again, who wants to do the
work, do you?

I don't know nether. Maybe Andreas does, because he already did a lot
with InnoSetup

just committed a first attempt.
Place this /before/ AstadeBuildserver.iss in the daily-build script
(so we can make the "full" installer include this one later)

Cheers

Just did it. Look into the daily build of today, you'll find the result
there. "Somebody" should have a look at it, weather it is OK ;-)

If we find it OK I'll run the script onto the release1.1.0 tag and copy
it to the Trace2UML website.

OK - we can take care of the rest (extracting AstadeDraw and creating a
layered installer) "later" ;-)

Cheers
